POSITION SUMMARY: Drives a company truck to provide prompt, courteous and complete local pickups and deliveries for commercial clients and other company employees. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.

Performs complete pre-trip inspection including, but not limited to, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls.

Drives heavy diesel truck to and from customer locations and company facilities or airline or port facilities.

Climbs into and out of truck at customer locations and disposal area(s). 

Secures containers and packages and secures all truck rails or materials safely and securely for transport.

Courteously interactions with customers, dispatchers and supervisors.

Reads route sheets and services each customer as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.

Properly performs driver check-in procedures upon returning to the facility at the end of the day.

Operates in a manner that is aimed at creating capacity and ensuring productivity by meeting company specified productivity goals while ensuring safe operations at all times.

Follows all safety policies and procedures.

Performs other job-related warehouse duties as assigned.

Skills / Requirements
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The following physical activities or abilities are commonly needed, but the actual requirements of this position will vary.

Lift, carry and push/pull at least 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.

Climb into and out of truck repeatedly throughout the workday.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
Required:

Valid Class A or B CDL  With Clean Driving Record

Hazardous Certification Training and or IAC Security Training a PLUS

Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification

Three - Five years commercial truck driving experience
