Gateway Logistics Group, Inc. operates a Windows NT WAN network with a fully integrated Windows 2000 based freight forwarding system. The system is fully compatible with MS Office.
All Import/Export documentation is produced through the system and all documents are printed on a high quality laser printer. Each workstation has full Internet access. Each workstation has a unique e-mail address. All workstations are equipped with the most up to date Microsoft Office products. In addition Gateway Logistics Group, Inc. staff members are fully trained and certified in the operation of the UNIX based AS 400 System as well as the SAP Basis System.

Gateway Logistics Group, Inc. is connected via ISDN line to the SAP system of a client. Working with their IT department appropriate fire wall was developed and secure connectivity established. Certified gateway staff input all goods received and post receiving reports on their behalf on a daily basis. By connecting to their system all transactions are recorded immediately.
This enables purchasing staff to identify the status of all P.O.'s immediately. Gateway also produces commercial invoices in SAP. Packing lists are prepared by our system.
Gateway Logistics Group, Inc. operates our WAN (Wide Area Network) utilizing a VPN (Virtual Private Network). Connectivity is established through the use of a Citrix Server/Client relationship. By installing licensed software (provided at no charge by Gateway) at your locations, any client could have direct access to all shipment related information generated by Gateway. A client would be able to access material receipts, receiving reports, purchase orders, shipment status reports, on-hand status reports, and custom reports in real time. Commercial invoices and packing lists would be available as well via this Citrix Client or by logging into our web based tracking system.
Gateway Logistics Group, Inc. has experience with start up of client based computer systems. Client systems in house at the present time are the AS 400 system and the SAP Basis system. Gateway Logistics Group, Inc. assisted a client with a changeover to the SAP Basis System. The transition was accomplished in two weeks. Gateway Logistics Group, Inc. personnel input all PO's in the supply string. We were able to implement the system with a minimal amount of coordination.

Gateway Logistics Group, Inc. provides electronic monitoring whenever possible. All carriers that provide EDI capabilities are directly connected to our in house tracking/tracing systems. When utilizing carriers that do not offer electronic monitoring; carriers are contacted by Gateway Logistics Group, Inc. via fax or telephone.
Bar Code System
Gateway Logistics Group, Inc. utilizes an integrated warehouse software package called MEPAW designed by HAL, Inc.
All shipments tracked into and out of our warehouses use the MEPAW bar coding system. The software is Real-Time, interactive software with or without purchase order line item logistics for General Material Movement. The database is fully interactive and supports bar coding Equipment such as Hand-held Bar Coding Devices for Process Control.
Can the data from your bar code system be used to run an inventory of what shipments are in the warehouse and is this information used for audit purposes to verify the data on a periodic basis.
